Golf is one of many ‘lifetime’ sports offered at Camp Wawenock. The Golf Program takes place on Thursday afternoons at nearby Point Sebago Golf Club’s extensive practice facility. Andy Sangster, (Camp Wawenock Director) is a single digit handicapper and member at Point Sebago. He works with the Club Pro and assistants to put together and help lead the multi-faceted program.
Each week, participants rotate through three, 30-minute skill ‘stations’ working on different aspects of their game. Over the summer, the program introduces or builds existing skills in: basic golfing etiquette, grip, stance, full swing and ‘knock down’ shots, putting, chipping, and bunker play. The program is appropriate for all age groups and skill levels of player – from beginners through to advanced players. Camp and Point Sebago provide appropriately sized clubs for all participants.
