Though many of our staff return each summer, we are always delighted to hear from potential candidates who are interested in joining our summer family. This is a uniquely rewarding place to work – one where you will feel like you are a ‘part of something’, where your efforts make a difference, and where you are really helping to build a summer community. At Wawenock, you will feel personally supported and valued.
“I gained confidence at camp. Being a camper and staff member created a confidence in me that has led to many successes in both my personal and professional life.”
Julia, Alumna & Staff
All staff who are interested in living and/or working directly with children must have skills and experience related to teaching one or more of the specialist activities that we offer at Camp. Most staff teach two or three different activities, though some staff focus full-time on their singular area of expertise. (Check out our Program pages for details)
Those who would like to be considered for Food Service, Medical, Maintenance, Security, Office or other supporting positions should have skills and experience related to those areas, as well as a desire to interact positively with children and staff on a daily basis.
All staff are required to go through a formal application, screening (including reference and criminal background checks) and personal interview process, conducted by the Camp’s Directors.
Please check out the testimonials of people who have worked at Camp in the past and then contact Andy Sangster, Director, if you are interested in learning more about joining our team. If you’re ready to apply, we encourage you to do so through the link below!
If you are not yet ready to complete the full application, fill out this 2 minute form and Andy, Catriona, or Kristy will be in touch with you to learn more.
