Though most of our staff return each summer, we are always delighted to hear from potential candidates who are interested in joining our summer family. This is a uniquely rewarding place to work – one where you will feel like you are a ‘part of something’, where your efforts make a difference and you are really helping to build a summer community. At Wawenock, you will feel personally supported and valued.
All staff who are interested in living an/or working directly with children must have skills and experience related to teaching one or more of the specialist activities that we offer at Camp. Most staff teach two or three different activities, though some staff focus full-time on their singular area of expertise.
Those who would like to be considered for Food Service, Medical, Maintenance, Security, Office or other supporting positions should have skills and experience related to those areas, as well as a desire to interact positively with children and staff on a daily basis.
All staff are required to go through a formal application, screening (including reference and criminal background checks) and personal interview process, conducted by the Camp’s Directors.
